Macquarie Towers - Liverpool NSW
In the early 1990s, Damien foresaw the immense growth potential of Sydney’s South West, envisioning Liverpool as the city's second major CBD. To accelerate this vision, he recognised the need for a landmark, high-quality, mixed-use development—one that would attract both government and private enterprise by offering A-grade commercial space alongside premium retail, a 4.5-star hotel, and modern residential living.
He identified the ideal site: a vacant, run-down shopping centre and carpark occupying a prime, elevated position on the main street, right in front of the Governor Macquarie statue. Following 12 months of negotiations, Damien secured the property in partnership with another developer. By 1998, the Development Application (DA) was approved, paving the way for the region’s very first high-rise tower.
The groundbreaking $110 million project (equivalent to $236.8 million today) delivered a master-planned community featuring:
10,000 m² of premium commercial space
3,500 m² of retail space
A 100-key boutique hotel
149 residential apartments
State-of-the-art entertainment, health, and sporting facilities
Fast forward 30 years to 2026, and Damien’s foresight has become reality. Liverpool is now a thriving heart of Greater Sydney. With Western Sydney International Airport—located within the Liverpool Council area—set to launch its inaugural flights later this year, the region is booming with some of Australia’s largest new residential, commercial, logistics, and industrial developments.
